6 cups water
2 cups steel cut oats
- Optional Additions
fresh or frozen fruit
spices such as cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, or cloves
nuts and seeds
plant-based milk
dates (or any dried fruit), chopped
pumpkin or sweet potato puree
riced cauliflower
nut butter
maple syrup, date syrup, or your favorite type of sugar
Directions
- Pour the water into a large pot on the stovetop over high heat and bring to a boil.
- Once the water is boiling, add the oats, and reduce heat to simmer the oats for 15 to 20 minutes or until your desired texture and consistency is reached.
- Feel free to add any of the optional toppings either while cooking, or mix them in just before serving.
