Ingredients

  • Basic Oatmeal Ingredients
  • 6 cups water

  • 2 cups steel cut oats

  • Optional Additions
  • fresh or frozen fruit

  • spices such as cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, or cloves

  • nuts and seeds

  • plant-based milk

  • dates (or any dried fruit), chopped

  • pumpkin or sweet potato puree

  • riced cauliflower

  • nut butter

  • maple syrup, date syrup, or your favorite type of sugar

Directions

  • Pour the water into a large pot on the stovetop over high heat and bring to a boil.
  • Once the water is boiling, add the oats, and reduce heat to simmer the oats for 15 to 20 minutes or until your desired texture and consistency is reached.
  • Feel free to add any of the optional toppings either while cooking, or mix them in just before serving.
