Hot Carob Drink – Dairy-Free

2 cups plant-based milk
2 tablespoons date sugar*
2 tablespoons carob powder
1 teaspoon vanilla bean powder
Directions
- Add all ingredients to a small saucepan, and whisk to combine.
- Heat on medium heat, whisking occasionally, until it starts to simmer.
- Serve immediately with your favorite hot cocoa toppings.

Notes
- Please note, date sugar does not dissolve, so it will eventually settle so the bottom the mug might have a gritty texture. We find that whisking during cooking and stirring before drinking distributes the sugar well, and we don’t find it to be gritty. But if you prefer, you could use a liquid sweetner instead, such as date syrup or maple syrup to taste.
